Our Mission Statement
To help, in cooperation and coordination with others, make Stanway a great place to live, work and visit.
To this end, the Council will:-
Provide high quality services and amenities, independently or in partnership, which provide a tangible benefit to our community in enhancing their physical and mental wellbeing
Continue to be financially responsible, ensuring prudence in spending public funds whilst maintaining sufficient reserves to fulfil future obligations and to meet unexpected costs
Develop and pursue an environmental-friendly policy which will minimise the Council's environmental impact, for example, reducing waste and using green energy
Stay Local, using local contractors and suppliers as much as possible whilst ensuring good value for public money
Maintain full compliance with all regulatory and statutory obligations which apply to local councils
The biggest all-female cycle race in the world is coming to Colchester!
The Women's Tour is Britain's leading UCI Women's WorldTour event. It begins in Colchester (Monday 6 June) with a stage that culminates in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Subsequent legs will visit Harlow (Tuesday 7 June), Gloucestershire (Wednesday 8 June) and Wales (Thursday 9 and Friday 10 June). The race concludes in Oxfordshire on Saturday 11 June. More »
This year's Tour features all 14 of the top division UCI Women's World Teams with 18 teams and 108 riders competing in the race, the biggest field in the tour's eight-year history.
The Grand Depart sets off from Colchester Sports Park, Cuckoo Farm Way, Colchester CO4 5YX. Gates open at 9.30 am for hospitality, presentations and activities for all: racing gets underway at 11am.

Temporary Traffic Regulation Order of Millers Lane, Stanway CP
Please click on the following link https://one.network/?tm=127530969 to find details of the intended closure of Millers Lane, due to commence on 20th June 2022 for 8 days. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while Essex County Council undertakes micro surfacing.
