If you find yourself in need of some help this winter, the Essential Living Fund can help pay for heating, electricity, water and food. We can also help you get essential household items like a fridge, cooker or table.
To get a grant you must
• Live in Essex, Southend or Thurrock
• Be aged over 16

Residents across north Essex with urgent medical problems will now be expected to call NHS 111

Earlier this year a pilot scheme was rolled out see to what extent A&E patients would be impacted if they had to first book an appointment.

The move was made in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and after experts concluded it would make more sense to triage patients by phone rather than having them sitting in waiting rooms.

Residents are warned to be alert to a spate of calls claiming to be BT outreach that result in a computer takeover by the criminals.

Self assessment customers are being warned to be vigilant following reports of a number of HMRC scams ahead of the return deadline on 31st January 2021.

Scams use the deadline to panic customers into sharing personal or financial details. Criminals contact customer via SMS text message, email or phone calls pretending to be HMRC offering financial help, tax rebates or refunds.
