Important roadworks information - A12 resurfacing works
A message from Highways England
A12 junctions 27 to 29, in both directions: resurfacing
I am writing to inform you that we will be carrying out essential resurfacing works at the above location. As part of this work, we will also be renewing faded road markings and replacing road studs.
We plan to complete this work over three weeks from Monday 10 August to Thursday 27 August, working between the hours of 8pm to 6am, subject to weather conditions.
This work has been broken down into two phases and the details and diversion routes are listed below.
Phase 1: A12 northbound between junctions 27 to 29, starting Monday 10 August to Tuesday 25 August
- Northbound traffic will be diverted off the A12 via junction 27, A133 and A1232 to re-join the A12 at junction 29.
Phase 2: A12 southbound junction 29 exit slip, starting Tuesday 25 August to Thursday 27 August
- Southbound traffic wishing to exit the A12 at junction 29 to use the A120 will be diverted via the A12 towards junction 28 to re-join the A12 northbound and onto the A120.
As part of this work, we will also be inspecting the safety barrier at this location. This will require a lane closure southbound on the A12 between junctions 29 and 27. While this lane closure is in place, a 50mph speed limit will be imposed for safety reasons.
